Long Island Quarterly was founded by George Wallace in 1990, whose goal was to present to the public the works of poets with associations to Long Island, New York.  For fifteen years it appeared as a print magazine, edited by Wallace with associate editors Patti Tana and Richard B Weber.

In 2005 Long Island Quarterly recommenced, in electronic form.

It continues to be published and edited by Wallace, with associate editors Patti Tana and Mankh, with the same goal in mind.

Submissions of original, unpublished poetry are encouraged from writers who live on Long Island, who originate from Long Island, or who otherwise have strong associations with the region. Electronic submissions are preferred - please send three to four poems in the body copy of an email - no attachments will be opened - with a brief biographical note. Subject and style is open. While there are no size or format restrictions, our preference is for poems of forty lines or less, and with straightforward presentation.
